The lyrics are more prominent and thoughtful, and the sound more often features slow tempos, acoustic guitars, and other instruments. Here Lennon continued to cry for "Help!" and bitterly declared "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away" over a strummed acoustic. Here McCartney took a bluegrass-country turn in "I've Just Seen a Face" and achieved his biggest ballad with "Yesterday" (singing before a string quartet).
